Child Counselling

Child Counselling

Every child is unique with their own learning styles, requirements and abilities. Having hands-on experience in child psychotherapy, I can help you understand your child and his/her world more deeply. By working on memories and experiences of child’s early years, I can help him/her to deal with different challenges and learn useful skills to have a more promising future. Methods are play-based and children will be readily at ease to cooperate which will contribute to meeting the goals of treatment.

My expertise in assessing the child regarding different aspects will give me the advantage to find out more effective and creative ways to help your child. Addressing the roots of problems is highly preferred to merely looking at surface issues.

Child Counselling

Prior to starting child therapy sessions, there is a virtual or in-person meeting with parents to explore what the child is experiencing and what goals are sought by parents.

Regarding children below 3 years old, parent-counselling is accompanied by parent-child play sessions in which parents act as co-therapist, co-player or just observe the process in the room. Play-based sessions will build the trust to help me support the child more. Parents’ presence in the room and their participation in plays will strengthen the bond with their child and teach them how to interact with their child at home in order to make the therapy more influential.
